I know I said above that I had never been to a casino outside of Nevada, but after re-thinking that statement I find it is false (the mind is the second thing to go). Do they make up their own 'house rules' for live blackjack games? I was wondering about the payouts for poker machines.
Harrah's is the only land based casino there, but there are a number of the 'riverboat' style in locations scattered around the area. The overall feel isn't the same for me, also. I believe this is more because Louisiana limits the payout by law and less because of the casino greed.
In Louisiana, they are lousy - will remind you of cruise ship pay tables. The main one for me is the pay tables for video poker. I find several differences between NOLA casinos and Las Vegas/Laughlin casinos.
